We have synthesized poly(oxyethylene)s containing phenoxy-derivatives in the side groups. These polymers were synthesized using polymer analogue reactions of poly[oxy(chloro-methyl)ethylene](CE, Poly(epichlorohydrin). The chemical structures of the polymers were characterized using NMR. Glass transition temperatures (Tg's) and melting temperatures (Tm's) of the polymers were measured using differential scanning calorimeter. These polymers showed side chain crystalline behavior. The ordered phase of the polymers were studied using DSC, POM, X-ray diffraction. |
