In this study, silica-manganese oxide nanocomposites with controllable thickness and oxidation state of Mn oxide shell were prepared by the addition of aqueous solution including Mn nitrate, CTAB, and tert-butanol into the sol-gel reaction medium for the synthesis of silica spheres at basic condition. For the formation of stable core-shell structure of composites, the concentrations of TEOS and Mn nitrate were changed. Also, the oxidation state of Mn was controlled with the variation of calcination temperature. The prepared composites were characterized by using FE-SEM, EDS, TEM, and XRD. |
