제목 Effects of Prepolymer Molecular Weight and Hydrophilic Curing Agent on UV Curable Urethane Dispersion
초록 UV-curable acrylates which are composed of reactive prepolymer, reactive diluents and photoinitiators can take advantage of a short reaction time and a high conversion, together with high modulus and good thermal properties.
On the other hand, polyurethane dispersion (PUD) decreases air pollution, improves safety and provides enhanced elongation compared with purely UV-curing system because PUD is based on a high molecular weight prepolymer. However, the thermal properties and modulus are poor.
Therefore, we combined the advantages of PUD and UV curings in UV-PUD systems, where improved elongation as well as improved mechanical and thermal properties are obtained. Since conventional acrylate type curing agents having low hydrophilicity prevents the formation of a stable particle, a new type of curing agent having hydrophilic group has newly been introduced in this experiments.
Finally, high molecular weight PU prepolymers were mixed up with curing agent and dispersed in water, followed by UV cured to obtain film.
To clarify influence of high molecular PU prepolymers containing crosslinked structure and a curing agent containing hydrophilic group, we measured tensile properties (UTM), thermal, dynamic mechanical properties (DMTA) of UV cured PUD films and storage stability of the dispersion.
