Tandem architectures have the potential to overcome the limits of a single polymer solar cell, which is a twofold enhancement of the open-circuit voltage (VOC) in the single cell. To realize ideal implementations of interlayer for a tandem solar cell, Tunnel Recombination Junction (TRJ) should be needed: if the electrons in conduction band of one cell and the holes in valence band of the other cell belong to a same Fermi energy level, they recombine without substantial energy losses. Herein, we report the successful demonstration of a tandem polymer solar cell with high performances, incorporated with a n-type doped TiOx inter-layers. The heavily n-type doping of TiOx is achieved by a chemical-induced doping method, tuning the electronic properties of TiOx interlayer. In addition, triple and quadruple tandem cell are demonstrated to confirm the physical and electrical robustness of the heavily n-type doped interlayer. |
