Functional Cosmetics products of UV Protection are being released every year containing a variety of organic or inorganic sunscreen. In sunscreen products for high SPF, infants and sensitive skin, Inorganic UV filters are widely used and titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are typical. In this study, UV protection efficiency of the titanium dioxide and zinc oxide were evaluated depending on particle size, coating agents, dispersing solvent and the properties of the formulation to develop a sunscreen product having a high UV protection ability. As a result, high efficiency of the UV protection was measured when a particle size of the inorganic sunscreen is small and the inorganic sunscreen was distributed by using the polarity oil. And in the case of W/O formulation, the low viscosity formulation containing a lot of oil was obtained a higher efficiency of UV protection because dispersibility of inorganic UV filter was improved. |
