We dealt about the fabrication of nanofibrous scaffolds that mimic the ECM using PCL grafted dextran (PGD) co-polymer. PGD was synthesized by ROP of CL using partially protected dextran and electrospuned. Molecular weight of the polymer was dependent on the number of OH groups in dextran. Polymers were characterized by FT-IR, NMR, GPC, DSC, TGA, and nanofibers by SEM, DSC, and XRD. Spinniability of the polymer was dependent on PCL content. Polymer with feed ratio 1:50 was readily electrospuned. Contact angle measurement showed that the amphiphilicity of the polymer decreases with PCL content. It is believed that the polymer of desired biomedical interest can be fabricated with superior biocompatibility, biodegradability, and mechanical properties.
