We suggest a general and simple way to fabricate the organic/inorganic nanoparticle (NP) multilayer films. This method allows the vertical growth of diverse NP layer (i.e., metal or transition metal oxide NPs) and the densely packed structure. This research is based on the successive layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly using photo-crosslinking reaction, between hydrophobic ligands on NP surface(Oleic acid) and photoinitiator molecules. Thereby, our approach does not need the additional surface modification of well-defined NPs synthesized in organic media, and furthermore the deposition step to insert the polymer layer connecting between respective inorganic NP layers. We also demonstrated that photo-crosslinking LbL-assembled (metal oxide NP)n films could exhibit nonvolatile memory device performance without high thermal treatment unlike conventional vacuum-deposition or sol-gel derived memory devices requiring thermal treatment > 200ºC. |
