제목 | The Effect of Electric Field on The Reactive Polymer Interface |
초록 | Electric fields were used to enhance thermal fluctuations at the interface between two thin liquid films or liquid/air films. Electrically induced instability can be used to control the size scale of morphologies. For instance, hexagonally-packed structure with well-defined wavelength was generated from liquid/air and immiscible liquid/liquid thin films if electric field was applied to the system. Here, we applied the electric field to reactive blend systems with various amounts of in-situ compatibilizers. Each polymer layer was spin-coated from solution onto silicon wafer which plays as one of the electrodes (lower electrode). Indium-thin-oxide (ITO)-coated glass (upper electrode) was mounted on top of the reactive polymer thin films. This geometry allowed us to observe directly temporal evolution of interfacial morphology of the reactive polymer thin films under the electric field.
