Synthesis and characterization of benzothiadiazole-based polymers |

PCBM has been frequently employed as an electron acceptor in the fabrication of polymer solar cells. However, it has some disadvantages such as recrystallization and phase separation, and thus alternative materials are needed. We attempted to synthesize benzothiadiazole-based polymer. The resulting polymer was characterized using DSC, TGA, CV, absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy, etc. Energy levels of the HOMO and LUMO of the polymer were also estimated. Details on the results will be presented. |
