Study on surface structure of stereocomplexed blend films by SIMS |

This study investigated the surface structure of enantiomeric poly(lactide) (PLA) blend films by ESCA and Tof-SIMS. The design of the blend systems was based on complexed and uncomplexed one using the surface segregation of a modified component with a low surface energy. Analysis of modified-PLLA/PDLA and modified-PLLA/PLLA blends, yielded a difference in surfce structure and the ion beam-induced behavior between fluorine and lactide groups. This indicates that the complexed blends offer the control of surface fluorine concentration by control of the degree of complexation in the blend system. |
