초록 Adsorption of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) from air has been studied for a long time since VOCs have been implicated as a major contributor to photochemical smog, which can cause haze, damage to plant and animal life, and eye irritation and respiratory problem for humans. VOCs are used as solvents in the manufacture of conuntless products. One consequence of these manufacturing operations is that large amounts of organics are being emitted to the atmosphere each year. Therefore, VOCs are among the most common pollutants emitted by the chemical process industries. One of the most important and effective methods of controlling the emission of VOCs is the use of the adsorption process. The primary objectives of the present work are the recovery of the solvent vapor (n-Hexane) by adsorption process, and the theoretical analysis of adsorption bed dynamics by a mathmatical model. The purpose of the present work is to obtain the pertinent adsorption and desorption data, and to develop a mathmatical model for the calculation of a nonisothermal adsorption process. Activated carbon (SLG-2PS) was used as an adsorbent and a volatile organic compounds, n-hexanne were chosen as the solvent.
