제목 Utilization of Vegetable Oils for Sustainable Synthesis of Monomers for Thermoplastic Elastomers
초록 In recent years, a lot of researchers have focused on the synthesis of TPEs (Thermoplastic Elastomers) from natural resources like vegetable oils because of their important availability, sustainability, biodegradability, and added values. Among TPEs, there are increasing demands for polyamide type TPEs which have a wide range of application because of their good thermal stability, and excellent chemical and hydrolytic resistance. Unfortunately, domestic chemical industries rarely have a production of TPEs and their monomers while many products have been already commercialized by foreign companies.
In this context, we are going to present a divergent and efficient process for the monomers of polyamide from vegetable oils as a renewable resource. We could obtain both α,ω-dicarboxylic acids and ω-amino acids monomers with C9 to C15 alkyl chains from olive oil, castor oil and rapeseed oil. All of the monomers were obtained in good to excellent yields.
