Hydrothermal synthesis of Co3O4@Fe2O3@rGO core-shell nanorods for anode in lithium-ion batteries |

The core-shell structured Co3O4@Fe2O3@rGO for lithium-ion battery anodes is fabricated by hydrothermal synthesis and subsequent calcinations to enhance both cyclic performance and power capability. Nanorod Co3O4 coated with Fe2O3 (Co3O4@Fe2O3) leads to core-shell structure with high specific surface area and large aspect ratio well developed with the path of ion transfer. However, the electrochemical performance of Co3O4@Fe2O3 is gradually faded out due to its volume change and low conductivity. The coating of rGO onto the surface of Co3O4@Fe2O3 (Co3O4@Fe2O3@rGO) provides at the same time high capacitance as well as excellent cyclic retention caused by highly effective buffering and high conductivity. |
