제목 Preparation of MgO nano-particles dispersed in oil
초록 Low-temperature calcination and capping method was employed to prepare oil-soluble MgO nano-particles from Mg(OH)2. Mg(OH)2 nano-particles were prepared by precipitation method from homogeneous solutions of magnesium salt compounds, and (OH)- as a precipitating anion originated from NaOH, NH4(OH) or KOH solution. MgO was capped by refluxing at temperature between 100 and 200 oC. The prepared particles have enough solubility in kerosene to make colloidal solution of high-concentration MgO (> 30 wt%). The decomposition of the precipitated Mg(OH)2 was analysed DTA/TGA and the particle size of magnesium oxide were studied by XRD and SEM.
