Flammability and Physical Properties of Phosphonate Flame Retardant in Polycarbonate |
초록 |
Polycarbonate is one of the most widely used engineering polymers and it shows very good mechanical and thermal properties. Compared to other polymers, polycarbonate is relatively easy to render flame retardant by virture of their low heat of combustion and their propensity to foam and char when exposed to fire. However, halogen flame retardants are prohibited and there has been a demand for flammability at thinner thickness retaining its transparency in industry. Comparative study of the flame retardant efficiency of three types of phosphonates flame retardant in polycarbonate was carried out. The thermal and optical properties of the fire-retardant resins, as well as their mechanical properties, was also studied. |
