For efficient gene delivery into cells, a new formulation method based on using polyethylenimine(PEI)-pluronic F127-polyethylenimine(PEI) micelles is presented in this study. PEI-Pluronic-PEI micelles revealed a little increase in critical micellization concentration (CMC) as compared with unmodified Pluronic micelles. The PEI-Pluronic-PEI micelles were characterized in terms of their effective diameter and surface zeta-potential value under various formulations. It was confirmed that when made micellar complexes with PEI-Pluronic-PEI / DNA, the condensed DNA was effectively protected from the nuclease attack. PEI-Pluronic-PEI / DNA micellar complexes exhibited higher transfection efficiency compared to the control PEI / DNA complexes. |
