Hydrogen is regarded as an ideal alternative to fossil fuels due to its zero-pollution emission. To utilize hydrogen in fuel-cell vehicles, we must find the optimal materials for hydrogen storage over 6.5 wt.%. In this study, we manufactured highly porous carbons using three activation agents, such as ZnCl2, KOH, and NaOH. The pore structures of the porous carbons were analyzed using N2/77K adsorption isotherms. The hydrogen storage of each sample was investigated under 100 bar at room temperature. After the activation, it was found that the specific surface area of the porous carbons was greatly increased, and hydrogen storage amount was also enhanced at each sample. |
