In this work, we prepared copper oxide-loaded highly nanoporous carbon materials for carbon dioxide capture in the air stream. Copper oxide was loaded on porous carbons by a sputter deposition method, and porous carbons were prepared from electrospun polymeric nanofibers by carbonization and activation processes. The microstructure of the CuO/PCs was characterized by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. The carbon dioxide capture-ability was evaluated by an on-line gas chromatography system. From the result, it was found that the presence of copper oxide nanoparticles significantly led to the increase of carbon dioxide capture-ability of the porous carbon. |
