Preparation of Antibacterial Microfiltration Membrane with Electrospun PVDF |

PVDF (Kynar® 761) nanofibers were made by electrospinning at an external voltage of 6-10kV, a traveling distance of 7-15 cm and flow rate of 0.4-1 mL/h. Although the diameter of the fiber was not significant changed, the conditions effected the change in diameter distribution. The optimum conditions for electrospinning of PVDF in DMAc/acetone (3/7 by wt) was 6kV, 7 cm, 0.4 mL/h and 10kV, 10 cm, 1 mL/h. PVDF nanofibers were also incorporated with silver nanoparticles in order to have an antibacterial properties. It was revealed that more than 200ppm of silver nanoparticle in the PVDF nanofiber had 99.9% of growth inhibition of Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae . When PVDF-nanosilver was laminated with PET its average pore diameter was o.5um. |
