Reconstruction methods for tissue defects from various causes in plastic surgery field have been developed with the development of modern medical technology, and yet there are many problems to overcome. Over the past years, research in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine has been actively conducted in various tissues.Although these tissues have shown their potential applicability experimentally, only a limited number of tissues were successfully engineered for clinical use to date.This may be due to various obstacles encountered in the tissue building process.The progress of engineering tissues for clinical use, current challenges organ development and clinical trials of the author will be provided. |
