Precise control over doping of photocatalysts with heteroatoms or metals is required to enhance their photocatalytic activities in visible light-driven photocatalytic reactions. In this talk, several chemical approaches for synthesis of effective photocatalysts such as graphene quantum dots (GQDs), hollow carbon dots (HCDs) and WS2 nanosheets, and the effect of doping them with heteroatoms or metals will be introduced. In addition, their photocatalytic reactions such as oxidative coupling reactions of various amines and reduction reactions of nitrophenol compounds under visible light, and the reaction mechanisms will be presented. Finally, the mechanisms responsible for the outstanding photocatalytic activities of GQDs, HCDs and WS2 nanosheets in visible light-driven photocatalytic reactions will be fully discussed. |
