The paclitaxel (PTx) has demonstrated significant activity in clinical trials against a variety of tumors when administered. The purpose of this study is to develop a carrier that could be used as delivery system for PTx. To use as drug eluting stent, we prepared of PTx-loaded methoxy-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(ε-caprolactone-co-L-lactide) (MPEG-PCLA) films which affect to adjust the rate of release through to control the biodegradation rate. In this study, we synthesized MPEG-PCLA by ring opening polymerization of CL, LA. with the molecular weight of various compositions. Then PTx-loaded MPEG-PCLA films were prepared by the solvent casting method and in vitro PTx release behavior was evaluated for up to 40 days. We confirmed that Ptx release from PTx-loaded MPEG-PCLA films could be controlled by varying the compositions of CL and LA. In conclusion, the PTx-loaded MPEG-PCLA films tried in this study could be used as good material of drug-eluting stent for future clinical trials. |
