제목 Enhancement of conductivity by addition of solvents in the vapor-phase polymerization of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT)
초록 The solvent effect on the conductivity of vapor phase polymerized EDOT has been investigated. For this study, the mixture of EDOT monomer and solvents such as ethanol, DI-water, and toluene were heated and introduced into vapor-deposition chamber and subsequently deposited onto the substrates which were pre-treated with oxidant and dopant. The vapor phase polymerized film with solvent-added monomer shows the conductivity of about 300 times than that with pure monomer. There are secondary doping, screening effect, and cleaned-off effect to reveal the increase of conductivity. In this study, 4-point probe conductivity measurements, atomic force microscopy, photoelectron spectroscopy and ultraviolet-visible-near infrared spectrophotometry were carried out to find the proper mechanism.
