Characterization of BiFeO3 nanofibers and their photocatalytic properties under solar light irradiation |
초록 |
One-dimensional BiFeO3 nanofibers were prepared via electrospinning which is eco-friendly method to fabricate inorganic nanofibers without severe conditions like high pressure or vacuum conditions. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the BiFeO3 nanofibers indicated rhombohedral perovskite crystalline structure. From the observation of surface morphology using FESEM, one-dimensional nanofibers were displayed with a diameter of about 287nm. Also, HRTEM images revealed that the BiFeO3 nanofibers showed fine lattice fringe with d(012) value of 0.3982 nm. From the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis (XPS), the chemical composition of BiFeO3 nanofibers was confirmed as stoichiometric BiFeO3. The optical band gap of BiFeO3 nanofibers is estimated by UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra. The optical band gap of BiFeO3 nanofibers is about 2.44 eV. The photocatalytic activity of fabricated BiFeO3 nanofibers was determined by degradation of methylene blue (MB) in water. The BiFeO3 nanofibers show the enhanced photocatalytic activity under solar light irradiation. On the basis of degradation of MB, it is suggested that the BiFeO3 nanofibers is one of promising photocatalyst with visible light response. |
