Degradation of aliphatic polyesters and polyethers via boron-catalyzed deoxygenation |
초록 |
We present application of boron-catalyzed deoxygenation reaction to selective degradation of aliphatic polymers containing oxygen in the main chain under mild condition. Use of B(C6F5)3 with silanes was found to be effective to degrade poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and polylactide (PLA) at room temperature while polymers possessing C-C backbone such as polystyrene (PS) was intact under the identical condition. We further demonstrate selective degradation of PEO or PLA in block polymers, which will be useful for generation of nanoporous polymers from block polymer precursors. |
