제목 Antibacterial effect of PVP/PEG/silveracetate hydrogel by Gamma irradiation
초록 Hydrogels containing silver acetate as antibacterial agent have been prepared using gamma ray irradiation. The hydrogels are composed of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), polyethylene glycol (PEG), kappa-carrageenan (KC) and silver acetate. The concentration of solution was 9 wt%. The ratio of PVP:PEG:KC was 6:1:2. The concentration of the silver acetate is 0, 0.01, 0.03, 0.05 and 0.07 M. The radiation dose were 25, 35 and 50 kGy (dose rate; 10 kGy/h). The physical properties of the synthesized hydrogels were evaluated by gel content, weight swelling ratio and mechanical properties. The antibacterial activities of the hydrogels were Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.
