2,4,6-trimethyl-2,4,6-trivinylcyclotrisilazane and borazine (B3N3H6) were used as starting materials for synthesis of Si-C-B-N polymer. The product was obtained as a gel polymer via hydroboration between vinyl and B-H groups at 0℃ to room temperature for 30 hours by standard Schlenk technique. The polymer was characterized by IR, GPC, TA and NMR. Ceramic material was produced by pyrolysis of the polymer at various temperatures in about 60-65% yield. The crystallization behavior of as obtained was studied by X-ray diffraction. Furthermore, conversion chemistry from polymer to ceramic will be investigated that involves cross-linking of the polymeric precursor.
