Ordered inorganic nanoparticles on nanopatterned polymeric surface |

The use of block copolymer thin films as self nanopatterned polymeric substrates has become popular as an economical nanofabrication technique, with new applications and techniques constantly being developed. This study investigated the interactions between particles of small dispersed nanoparticles and the nanopatterened surfaces of poly (styrene-b-ethylene oxide) (PS-b-PEO) nanopatterned arrays. Patterned polymeric substrates form cylindrical hydrophilic PEO domain of 20~30 nm with normal to the surface and hydrophobic PS phase. Our present studies demonstrate both the regularly ordered surface that can be achieved in single-layer films with a solvent annealing method and uses of the diverse nanomaterials on the surface. The surface of nanopatterned arrays before and after the step of nanoparticle formation was examined by using the Atomic Force Microscopy (XE-100, PSIA). |
