제목 Synthesis and characterization of thiourea-immobilized nanoparticles for adsorption of silver ions in aqueous phase
초록 Polymer beads have been widely used in many fields, such as electronics, paint coatings, optics, catalysis, adsorbents, and so on. Thiourea has been known to be one of the best functional materials that can form a complex with metal ions. In this study, thiourea-immobilized polymer beads were successfully synthesized by emulsion polymerization. The adsorption efficiency of the resulting polymer beads was studied by varying different parameters such as pH, contact time, concentration, and temperature. Selectivity of the polymer beads was studied using an aqueous solution containing different metal ions. The polymer beads were characterized by various techniques such as FT-IR spectroscopy, FE-SEM, ICP, TEM, etc., and the results will be presented in details.
