For many years silane coupling agent have been used to iporve the reinforcing response of silica when incorporated into rebber matrices. These substances can make available two funtional groups, an organofunctional and a silicofunctional group, the latter preferably being an alkoxygroup, which reacts with the surface of the filler. In constract, the organofunctional group, bonded to the silicon atom, can be of a highly diversified nature. in this work four types of silane coupling agents with varied reaction possibilities are introduced into silica filled SBR, which are Si-69, TESPD, Vinyltriethoxysilane, Triehoxysilane. Bound rubber is tested for studying the polymer-filler interaction, mechanical properties and thermal properties of silica filled SBR are also investigated. |
