Polymer-Supported Palladium-Carbene Complex for Suzuki Cross-Coupling Reaction in Aqueous Phase |

Poly(1-methylimidazoliummethyl-tetraethyleneglycol-styrene)-co-polystyrene(PS-co-PS-TEG-MI) resin (38~200㎛) was prepared by suspension polymerization. The resin was compatible with water, and all the imidazolium functional groups were located on the bead surface. To obtain this resin, 1-methyl-4-vinylbenzyltetraethylene glycol imidazolium hexafluorophosphate was synthesized and copolymerized with styrene and DVB under suspension polymerization condition. This new type resin was used as a polymer-supported carbene precursor for palladium complex. The polymer- supported palladium reagent efficiently catalyzed Suzuki cross-coupling of various aryl halides and aryl boronic acids in aqueous phase. |
