Soluble thermally activated delayed fluorescent devices |

Thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) devices have attacted great attention due to high quantum efficiency and low material cost. However, most TADF materials have rigid and aromatic based molecular structures and have poor solubility in common solvents. Therefore, it is necessary to modify the molecular structure of TADF materials to make the TADF materials soluble in solvents and to develop soluble devices. One method to make the TADF materials soluble in solvent is to introduce flexible units in the molecular structure. We synthesized two green TADF dopant materials with flexible units in the molecular structure to develop high efficiency soluble TADF devices. We compared the device performances of the soluble devices with the vacuum deposited devices and could achieve similar quantum efficiency both in soluble and vacuum deposited devices. The quantum efficiency of the green TADF device could reach above 18% at 1% doping concentration. |
