제목 Synthesis of spiro-benzofluorene based pyridine derivatives as red phosphorescent host and electron transport materials
초록 We have designed and synthesized new red phosphorescent host and electron transport materials based on the pyridine and spiro-benzofluorene moiety. 3-(spiro[benzo[c]fluorene-7,9'-fluorene]-2'-yl)pyridine (SPP) and 2',7'-di(pyridin-3-yl)spiro[benzo[c]fluorene-7,9'-fluorene] (SPBP) were synthesized and they were used as the host materials in red phosphorescent devices doped with iridium(III) bis(2-phenylquinoline)acetylacetonate (Ir(pq)2acac). SPP and SPBP devices doped with 2% Ir(pq)2acac showed high quantum efficiency of 13.3% and 12.3% respectively. In addition, these materials were compared with Alq3 as electron transport materials for red phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes. The SPBP exhibited much higher quantum efficiency than Alq3 as an electron transport material due to efficient electron transport an hole blocking.
