Synthesis of spiro-benzofluorene based pyridine derivatives as red phosphorescent host and electron transport materials |
초록 |
We have designed and synthesized new red phosphorescent host and electron transport materials based on the pyridine and spiro-benzofluorene moiety. 3-(spiro[benzo[c]fluorene-7,9'-fluorene]-2'-yl)pyridine (SPP) and 2',7'-di(pyridin-3-yl)spiro[benzo[c]fluorene-7,9'-fluorene] (SPBP) were synthesized and they were used as the host materials in red phosphorescent devices doped with iridium(III) bis(2-phenylquinoline)acetylacetonate (Ir(pq)2acac). SPP and SPBP devices doped with 2% Ir(pq)2acac showed high quantum efficiency of 13.3% and 12.3% respectively. In addition, these materials were compared with Alq3 as electron transport materials for red phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes. The SPBP exhibited much higher quantum efficiency than Alq3 as an electron transport material due to efficient electron transport an hole blocking. |
