제목 | Preparation of MPEG-Polyester Diblock Copolymers and Examination of Gel-to-Sol Transition |
초록 | Diblock copolymers consisting of methoxy poly(ethylene glycol) (MPEG) and poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL), poly(δ-valerolactone) (PVL), poly(L-lactic acid) (PLLA) or poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) as biodegradable polyesters was prepared to examine phase transition of diblock copolymer solutions. MPEG-PCL or MPEG-PVL and MPEG-PLLA or MPEG-PLGA diblock copolymers were prepared by ring opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone (ε-CL) and δ-valerolactone (δ-VL) in the presence of HCl·Et2O as monomer activator at room temperature and by ring opening polymerzation of L-lactide (LA) and glycolide (GA) in the presence of stannous oxtoate at 130 oC, respectively. the synthesized diblock copolymers were characterized by 1H-NMR, IR, and GPC. Phase transitions of diblock copolymer aqeous solutions were explored according to temperature variation for various concentrations of diblock copolymer. The diblock copolymer solution exhibited a phase transition from gel to sol for increasing temperature. From X-ray diffractions and DSC thermal studies, gel-to-sol transition of the diblock copolymer solutions significantly depended on their crystalline degrees.
