Among the many types of solar cells, bulk heterojunction (BHJ) polymer solar cells (PSCs) have attracted considerable attention due to low cost, high reproducibility, light weight and the probability for solution processing and large area fabrication. In PSCs, It is highly important that large interfacial area between electron-donor and electron-acceptor materials to facilitate the diffusion of excitons and vertical separation of electron-donor and electron-acceptor materials between two electrodes to improve free charge collection be achieved. It is well known that the vertical separation is related to the surface energy difference between donor and acceptor and their interactions. Here, we demonstrate composition tunning of a mixture of PTB7 and PC70BM using additives which can selectively interact with only thiophene-based polymers. In results, the power conversion efficiency is increased from 7.3 to 8.2 % due to the improvement in the JSC. |
