Polyelectrolyte multilayer films were assembled on diverse substrates (glass slide, silicon wafer, etc) by the sequential adsorption of poly(acrylic acid) and poly(allyamine hydrochloride) from dilute aqueous solution. At certain conditions, these multilayer films undergo porous transitions a simple acid treatment. After the microporous structures are formed, we study the porosity and in-situ nanoparticle synthesis. The reactive functional groups which remained after the film deposition allow to undergo metal nanoparticle synthesis. Gold nanoparticles was successfully incorporated throughout the multilayer films. Gold nanoparticle-embeded films reveal enhanced transmission surface plasmon resonance(SPR) spectroscopy. SPR absorbance results in a visible color of the metal nanoparticle. SPR reflectivity differs upon the event of the molecule adsorption onto the metal surface. Using SPR phenomena, Au nanoparticle-hybrid system may have a great potential to detect biomolecules. |
