In the carbon based hydrogen production, water gas shift reaction (WGSR) is the intermediate step used for hydrogen enrichment and CO reduction in synthesis gas. A steam torch contains highly active species, enhancing the chemical reaction rate and eliminating the need for catalysts. We expect to find appropriate position of CO injection is highly helpful to improve hydrogen productivity and to reduce CO rate. Thus, the correlation between the temperatures of the steam plasma and injecting points of carbon monoxide has been investigated in this experiment. Also, we have developed elbow type reactor for controlling CO injecting points by temperature. The characteristics and syngas composition of WGS reaction were described. |
