제목 A Novel Electrospun Nanofibrous Scaffold for Tissue Engineering
초록 For many years, there are several approaches in three dimensional scaffolds design for tissue engineering. Biodegradable natural and synthetic polymers have been processed into scaffold materials. Among them, collagen, natural polymer, is widely used for three dimensional tissue regeneration. In many organ tissues, extracellular matrix (ECM) is consisted of two macromolecules, proteoglycans and collagens, that together form a composite-like structure. The collagen fibrous structure is composed by three-dimensional fiber networks of nanometer-scale (50 - 500 nm) multi-fibrils. This nano-scale fibrillar structure provide a better environment for cell attachment and function. In this study, we prepared a novel nonwoven nano-scale fiber-based scaffold by an electrospinning process for having a morphologic similarity to the ECM. The obtained nanofibrous scaffold was physicochemically modified with plasma glow discharge treatment for improving cell adhesion. The properties of the scaffold, including porosity and mechanical properties, were characterized and cell compatibilities onto surface modified and control nanofibrous scaffolds were also investigated.
