제목 The Flame Retardant Effect of Cyclic phosphonic acid compound and Melamine Derivatives in Poly(Butylene Terephthalate)
초록 Poly(Butylene Terephthalate) is well known to have a good performance characteristics as an engineering thermal plastic and it’s widely used in electrical and automotive parts, sometime, where fire resistant properties are required. In general, Neat PBT is so combustible that it needs the proper flame retardant such as halogen-containing derivatives.1) Currently, the use of halogen containing additives are restricted by environmental controls although they are good flame retardants.2)
In this study, cyclic phosphonic acid compound and melamine derivatives are used as halogen free flame retardants in PBT and we investigated the flame retardant effect of those derivatives. Halogen free PBT compounding product was obtained by zsk-25 extruder and LG-100 injection machine. The thermal and mechanical properties of this PBT compound were measured by HDT, UL flame tester, LOI tester, TGA, and Instron.
The mechanism and properties of the halogen free PBT compound will be presented.
