The ion transporting properties of poly(ethyleneoxide) (PEO) have been studied widely as polymer electrolytes, due to its ability of solvating lithium ions. However, PEO is a semi-crystalline polymer and the ionic conductivity decreases due to its high crystallinity. Siloxanes are low Tg materials and thermally stable. And cyclic forms of siloxanes have lower vapor pressures than those of linear forms, and can be prepared as monodisperse oligomers. In this study, substituted cyclic siloxanes with oligo(ethyleneoxide) side-chains were synthesized, and their thermal properties and lithium ion conductivities were investigated for various grafted structures. |
