Fabrication of High Refractive Index Films Based on Acrylic Resin/TiO2 nanocomposite |

The refractive index (RI) is one of the most important and fundamental characteristic of materials used in optical design and application. The most organic materials have a small RI (1.3 – 1.7) due to their chemical structure limitation. Inorganic materials usually have a high RI (2.0 – 5.0). But, they have many disadvantages such as higher densities, lower flexibility and lower dispersity. To overcome this limitation, inorganic nano-fillers were introduced into organic resins. In this study, we fabricated refractive index films by introducing TiO2 particles into acrylic resin. Acrylic resin containing sulfur-atom synthesized and TiO2 particles modified silane agent. The synthesized acrylic resin and TiO2 were characterized using FT-NMR, FT-IR, DSC, TGA. Their optical properties were characterized UV-visible spectrometer and ellipsometer. |
