Fluorene copolymers with benzothiadiazole and 2,3-diphenylquinoxaline unit in the polymer main chain were synthesized. Along with the above polymers, diamino-functionalized polymers were obtained from the reduction of benzothiadiazole units in the polymer main chain. Spin coated thin films from these polymer solutions were exhibited fluorescence quenching upon the UV irradiation. The quenching was presumed to result from the electronic coupling between optoelectronic segments and intra- or interchain energy transfer in conjugated polymer with delocalized electronic structure. Therefore, important properties, such as electric conductivity and emission intensity are easily perturbed by external conditions, resulting in fluorescence quenching. Besides flexible fluorescence patterning was successfully performed on the nanofiber web made of the polybenzothiadiazole doped in PMMA using fluorescence quenching mechanism above mentioned. |
