Fluorination of CF3CH2Cl into CF3CH2F over chromium oxide is accompanied by dehydrofluorination reaction. This dehydrofluorination (formation mainly of CF2=CHCl) is related to the deactivation of catalysts We found the increasing crystallinity of chromium oxide which was used to reaction of CF3CH2Cl without HF increase the dehydrofluorination and the extend of deactivation. The crystallinity of chromium oxide depends on the activation temperature and atmosphere employed during the activation of catalyst. Increasing crystallinity leads to desorption of surface hydroxyl groups by condensation process. This process generates coordinatively unsaturated Cr+3 surface species. The dehydrofluorination reaction was occurred at the unsaturated Cr+3 surface sites
