제목 Effect of single-walled carbon nanotubes on the physical gelation of binary polymer blends
초록 Here, we for the first time report the physical gelation of two polymers, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and polyacrylonitrile (PAN) in the presence of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs). The two polymers showed different microphase behaviors with SWNTs in binary-solvent, water and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). SWNTs embedded into the binary-polymer/binary-solvent system altered the physical gelation behavior, which, in turn, resulted in unique physicochemical characteristics of the resulting gels. The SWNT/PVA/PAN ensembles gelled successfully with appropriate amounts of water in DMSO and the gelation process was reversible. Importantly, the SWNT/PVA/PAN gels were carbonized via thermal treatment in a nitrogen atmosphere, which were used as electrode materials.
