Effect of organically modified montmorillonite on PC/PMMA blend |

The effect of organoclay on miscibility of polycarbonate (PC) /polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) blends is studied. Various kind of organically modified montmorillonite(OMMT) were used as compatibilizer in immiscible blends. And twin-screw extrusion system was used to disperse OMMT in blends. DSC experiment was carried out to examine the effect of clay addition on glass transition temperature, Tg of PC/PMMA blend. Rheological properties were measured according to the kinds of clays by rotational rheometer. Moreover, modulus of each blends were checked by DMA. The morphology of OMMT modified PC/PMMA was studied using scanning electron microscopy. XRD was used to confirm structure of PC/PMMA blends with clays. |
