Various nanostructures including sphere, cylinder, gyroid, lamellae, helix and core-shell cylinder with helical sense could be obtained in the self-assembly of PS-PLLA chiral block copolymer (BCP*). After the hydrolysis of PLLA blocks, mesoporous PS with ordered nanochannels could be fabricated, and treated as template for the following electroplating process or sol-gel reaction. By taking advantage of templated electroplating process, a straightforward and effective method for the fabrication of the patterned carbon nanotube (CNT) arrays can be achieved by electroplating Ni as catalysts for the growth of CNTs; the optical performance of field emission for CNT device might be achieved by finely modulating the configuration of patterned arrays. Furthermore, silica precursor mixture could be introduced into the PS template by pore-filling process. Well-defined nanocomposites with SiO2 inorganic nanostructures orderly dispersed in polymeric matrix could be successfully obtained after the sol-gel process. Also, specific pore-filling process was adopted to increase the loading efficiency of sirolimus (a potent immunosuppressive drug) solution. After the pore-filling process, sirolimus-loaded cylindrical and lamellar nanoarrays could be obtained. A comparison with those of macroscale templates indicates that the developed nanoporous templates can successfully entrap the loaded drug in nanoscale pores, markedly increasing the duration of drug delivery. |
