제목 | Nonstoichiometry and Piezoelectric properties of lead-free ABO3 ceramics |
초록 | Piezoelectric materials have applications in various devices such as sensors, actuators and energy harvesters, etc. To date, most of the piezoelectric devices are prepared from lead-based ceramics due to their enhanced performance. However, lead-based ceramics are toxic and face constraints from global legislative agencies. Therefore, numerous research efforts have been employed to synthesize high performance lead-free ceramics for device applications. Nonstoichiometry plays an important role in tailoring the electromechanical properties of piezoelectric materials. This work describes the synthesis and effect of A and B-site nonstoichiometry on structure and electromechanical properties of various lead-free candidate materials, such as (Bi0.5Na0.5+x)TiO3 (BNT), (Bi0.5K0.5+x)TiO3 (BKT), (Na1-x Kx)NbO3–NKN and BiFeO3 (BF) ceramics. The observed results obtained from this work suggest that lattice distortion, morphotrophic phase boundary and poly morphic phase transition play dominant role in enhancing the piezoelectric properties of the studied materials. |
