제목 | Investigation on superhydrophobicity and transparency of silica-embedded epoxy coatings for self-cleaning solar-cell windows |
초록 | Superhydrophobic surfaces possessing a water contact angle morethan 150º have utilized for various applications suchas self-cleaning, anti-icing and anti-corrosion coatings. In recent years, self-cleaninghas been studied intensively for optical devices which require to be cleaned fromdusts. In order for the self-cleaning surfaces to be used in real-worldapplications, issues on mechanical hardness of the surfaces must be solvedalong with achieving high transparency. In this study, hydrophobic-silica nanoparticle-embeddedepoxy coatings have been fabricated by facile brush-coatingmethod. The investigation on superhydrophobic and transparency properties insilica-embedded epoxy coatings was carried out according to the silica/epoxycontent. In addition, mechanical hardness test was also performed for evaluatingtheir feasibility for self-cleaning solar-cell windows.
