제목 Synthesis of functional Copolymer containing bromomethyl and hydroxyl group
초록 The well-defined copolymer derived from ethylene oxide(EO), epibromohydrin(EBH), and tert-butyldimethylsilyl glycidyl ether(SGE) was synthesized by the cationic ring-opening polymerization with ethanol as an initiator and BF3O(C2H5)2 as a catalyst system. This polymerization was proceeded by activated monomer mechanism (AMM) to controll the molecular weight, narrow molecular weight distribution, and the functionality. The copolymers were characterized by GPC, 1H-NMR after deprotection of alkylsilyl group tailored functional copolyether containg bromomethyl and hydroxyl group could be obtained. But copolymerization of EO and EBH in the presence of THF was shown to have higher polymerization yield and resulant higher molecular weight.
