We detail improvements in the sensing properties of reduced graphene oxide (RGO), which were achieved through functionalization. The metal decorated RGO sheets were first prepared by chemical method. To obtain uniform metal decorated RGO sheets, the supernatant was further centrifuged at 6000 rpm for 30 min to remove small graphene pieces and water-soluble by product, repeatedly washed with distilled water until the pH = 7. Then, the metal-GO organic solution was dried and stored in a vacuum oven at 90 oC until use. Finally, a horizontal alumina tube furnace was used for thermal annealing, the metal-GO organic powders under hydrogen gas. The sensing capabilities of metal decorated RGO sheets in regard to NO2 gases were significantly enhanced by adding metal nanoparticles. The RGO-metal sensors exhibited a fine performance with respect to NO2 gas. We have discussed the related sensing mechanisms. [H. G. Na, Y. J. Kwon, H. Y. Cho, S. Y. Kang, T. K. Jung, H.-S. Lee, H.
